I provide an overview of editing A Companion to the Australian Media, published in September 2014. At this time of rapid and revolutionary change in modes of communication, the Companion provides the first comprehensive, up-to-date historical account of Australia’s press, broadcasting and new media sectors.

In this hands-on presentation, I will reflect upon the epistemological and practical challenges of working across all areas of the Australian news media, and commissioning and editing 298 expert contributors.
