[csaa-forum] 2014 CHASS National Forum, 8 & 9 October, Melbourne

Please find attached/appended flyers and information about the 2014 CHASS National Forum Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and the Public Good for your perusal.

The Forum will be held at the University of Melbourne (Woodward Conference Centre, Law Building, Carlton campus) on 8 and 9 October 2014 and early bird registration (Forum package Day 1 + Day 2 + Australia Prizes Dinner) is open till 31 August.

The program has a broad appeal – it is a mix of discussion, poetry, philosophy and politics. More details are available here: http://www.chass.org.au/forum/program.htm.

Confirmed speakers include Hugh Mackay, David Malouf, renowned sociologist and author Frank Furedi, Professor Ian Chubb AC (Chief Scientist), Emma Bennison (Arts Access Australia), Professor Denise Meredyth (Australian Research Council), Tim Wilson (Human Rights Commissioner), The Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG, and Professor David Christian FAHA (Big History), among others.

The 2014 CHASS Australia Prizes Dinner will be held at Queen’s Hall, Parliament of Victoria and keynote speakers are Senator the Hon George Brandis QC, Attorney-General and Minister for Arts and Rupert Myer AM, Chair, Australia Council for the Arts. We will also have a special poetry session by Les Murray AO, one of Australia’s most well-regarded poets.

Registration fees are quite modest ($150 plus GST for Day 1) and we are offering student/concession rates and packages.
