This seminar will comprise of two presentations on the broad theme of
'Maker Culture'. Firstly there will be a presentation from guest speaker,
Dr Matthew Rimmer of ANU College of Law and ARC Future Fellow, looking at
the Maker Movement and their engagement with political processes in the US.
Secondly, Angela Daly (SISR research fellow) and Darcy Allen (RMIT PhD
candidate and SISR research assistant) will present the initial research
output of the Swinburne 'Legal and Social Implications of 3D Printing'
project, which examines the extent to which sharing practices are prevalent
in the Thingiverse online file sharing platform for 3D printing design
files.
