The Australian Centre of Excellence for Local Government (ACELG) at the University of Technology, Sydney is inviting proposals for its 2014 Research Partnership Scheme.

The initiative provides opportunities for local government researchers in councils and related organisations to work with ACELG and other partners in undertaking research that will benefit local government nationally and build research capacity in the sector.

A number of partnerships of up to $20,000 will be offered to partners who can contribute at least $10,000 in cash from their own organisation or from a third party. Smaller projects will also be considered. As a general rule, preference will be given to proposals that match ACELG's contribution in full.

Applications close at 5pm, Friday February 14. Application details and information about previous projects can be found at http://www.acelg.org.au/partnershipscheme

Local government staff and organisations are encouraged to propose research projects that are of both local and national importance, and that extend the work undertaken by ACELG.

The Scheme is designed to support genuine research partnerships in which ACELG is an active contributor at each stage of the process, from the finalisation of project briefs and selection of researchers, through to the completion and publishing of research reports.

For more information, contact Jessie Lymn, ACELG Research Officer, jessie.lymn at acelg.org.au or (02) 9514 8223.
