Subject coordinator role in Media and Communications for semester 1 2014

The Media and Communications Program at the University of Melbourne is seeking a suitably qualified coordinator for the postgraduate subject Public Relations and Communications to be offered in semester 1, 2014.

Public Relations and Communications is an existing subject, taught as part of the highly successful Masters of Global Media and Communication. It attracts a diverse cohort of students from Australia and around the world.  The subject description is available at

The coordinator will be responsible for conduct of the subject, including updating the existing materials as required, delivering lectures and seminars, arranging guest lecturers, and assessing student work.  The coordinator will also be responsible for overseeing any tutors required for the subject.

The successful applicant will be expected to have a PhD in Media and Communications or a related field, or will have significant professional experience in the industry. They will work under the supervision of the Head of Program, but will be expected to be exercise significant responsibility.

Remuneration will be provided on a casual basis for the lectures and seminars but the role also includes payment for subject coordination, updating the reading guide and marking.
