Hi all, please forward to your networks as you see fit. We'll be needing help with a couple of short projects in the next 18 months. Cheers, Kath

The ARC Discovery Project, Young People, Sex, Love in the Media, is looking for casual research assistants in the Sydney area. The project seeks to understand the ways that young people use media (including user generated media) to learn about sex, love and relationships. We are particularly hoping to hear from higher degree students and early career researchers in the fields of media studies, sexuality/gender studies and cultural studies.

In the first instance, you will be preparing a literature review focused on young people’s engagements with social networking services and user-generated media in formal and informal learning contexts. Interest (or experience) in school-based sex and relationships education practice will be highly regarded. You should have demonstrated capacity to work independently while preparing literature reviews and annotated bibliographies. Proof reading, copyediting and layout skills are also desirable.

Please forward a CV and short overview of your research interests and experience, plus contact details for two academic referees to Kath at k.albury at unsw.edu.au<mailto:k.albury at unsw.edu.au> by August 23, 2013. The Young People, Sex, Love in the Media research group is led by Catharine Lumby (Macquarie University), Kath Albury (UNSW) and Alan McKee (QUT).
