Australia Forum on Sexuality, Education and Health
2nd national meeting, Sydney
Wednesday 10 April 2013
Following the success of the 1st Meeting of the Australia Forum on Sexuality, Education and Health in Melbourne last year, you are warmly invited to join us for the 2nd meeting, to be held at The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney on Wednesday, 10 April.
The Forum aims to bring together researchers, practitioners and policy makers
from across the fields of sexuality, education and health, to
· discuss and debate contemporary issues and concerns,
· build and consolidate networks, and
· develop joint projects and initiatives together.
There has been immense interest in the Forum since the idea was first raised by Professor Peter Aggleton (NCHSR, UNSW), who facilitated a similar forum in London.
This second meeting will be organised around a series of short
provocations on the theme Learning about sex -- what, when, where and how? There will be plenty of time for networking and discussion.
Confirmed speakers/provocateurs include Kath Albury, Journalism and Media Research Centre, UNSW; Deborah Bateson, Medical Director, Family Planning New South Wales;Raewyn Connell, Faculty of Education and Social Work, University of Sydney; Terence Humphreys, Community Capacity Building Manager, twenty10 incorporating GLCS NSW; and Karyn O’Brien, Deputy Principal, Burwood Girls High School, Croydon, NSW.
Date: Wednesday, 10 April, 10.00-12.30, UNSW Kensington Campus, Sydney
Time: Presentations commence at 10.00am. Discussion and networking will conclude at approximately 12.30. Followed by refreshments and light lunch.
