Multicultural Queer Australia:
Then, now and the future
Co-editors: Anne Harris and Alyena Mohummadally,
Australian GLBTIQ Multicultural Council Inc (AGMC)

This exciting new book is the first of its kind since Jackson and Sullivan’s “Multicultural Queer” (1999), and is being compiled to mark the 10 year anniversary of the AGMC Inc and its work on behalf of culturally, ethnically and religiously diverse Australians who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex or queer. The book will acknowledge the central role played by the AGMC over the past decade in celebrating the contributions of culturally, ethnically and religiously diverse LGBTIQ Australians. Whether you have been involved with the AGMC, benefited from the AGMC, or simply wish to share your story of being multiply-diverse in Australia, we welcome your contribution.

Your chapter should address one of the following general areas. While word lengths are flexible, we are aiming for chapters of no more than 5000 words.

Section 1: AWARENESS and (IN)VISIBILITY
Section 2: QUEER EDUCATIONS – in and out of school
Section 3: HEALTH AND (WELL)BEING
Section 4: POLICY/ADVOCACY/LAW REFORM

Deadline: Interested authors should submit BY FEB 15TH a title, short bio and abstract (no more than 150 words) outlining their proposed chapter to Anne Harris (anne.harris at monash.edu).  Full chapters will be due by June 30th, 2013.  Please note there is no payment for chapters that are accepted. This publication will be peer reviewed and proposed publication date is early 2014.
