Two-day seminar exploring the changing character of the documentary genre.

In light of its development beyond standard linear-sequential forms, conventional media distribution contexts and ordinary habits of production and consumption, the documentary is currently an "expanding" form.

As well as acknowledging new modes of documentary occurring within social media and contemporary art practice, this seminar considers shifting relations between live event, documentary record and the documentary genre, across a range of critical and creative-practice research disciplines.
The seminar will draw together academics, practitioners, and post-graduate students pursuing research in this expanded field, with a view to developing a focused context for discussion, research and collaboration.
