Chair, University of Stirling - Film Studies Department

The University of Stirling School of Arts and Humanities is seeking to
appoint a leading researcher of international standing at professorial level
to strengthen its position as a leading UK university.

Applicants are expected to pursue research in Film Studies as a member of
the Stirling Media Research Institute, teach and supervise postgraduate and
undergraduate students, and to undertake administrative duties as
appropriate. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to
participate in both CMC's and the School of Arts and Humanities' expanding
portfolio of Masters programmes, and to supervise doctoral students. The
ability to help further strengthen and expand the School's portfolio of
taught postgraduate programmes will be a key requirement of candidates. The
successful candidate will evidence the capacity to lead further development
generally in Film Studies at Stirling, and to pursue opportunities for
collaborative activities in the School, in particular with film specialist
colleagues in Literature and Languages. Applications will be welcome from
researchers with a sustained record of publication at the highest level, and
drawn from a broad range of Film Studies specialisms. It is hoped that the
successful candidate would be able to take up his/her appointment during the
Autumn 2012 semester.

Attractive salary package within the Professorial scale.
