Innocence and Dictatorship

Tues March 6, 4-5.30pm in Robert Webster Building 327

Hungarian poet, writer and performer Péter Zilahy's sparkling and witty modern classic The Last Window Giraffe is a testament to an era, describing the ludicrousness of life under dictatorship in iron-curtained Hungary and Milosovic's Belgrade. The author will read from his works and will talk about his award-winning novel that was also used as a handbook to stage a revolution.

Péter Zilahy is one of Hungary’s most exciting, diverse writers. Originally a poet, he also writes prose, drama, essays, is a photographer and does live performances. He recently performed a sell-out show on New York’s Broadway. The Last Window Giraffe was has been translated into more than 20 languages. It’s won multiple awards, as well as having been adapted into an interactive CD-ROM and a radioplay.
