A summer school in Barcelona, Spain
July 9 - July 19, 2012

Hosted by the Center of Study and Investigation for Global Dialogues

This international two-week Summer Institute aims at enlarging the scope
of the conversation (analysis & investigation) of the hidden agenda of
modernity (that is, coloniality) in the sphere of knowledge, power and
higher education through a focus on decolonial thought and knowledge.

Affiliated faculty include:

Boaventura de Souza Santos, Emma Perez, Salman Sayyid, Nelson
Maldonado-Torres, Stephen Small, Chela Sandoval, Ramón Grosfoguel, Kwame
Nimako, Tiffany Ruby Patterson, Houria Bouteldja, Michael Omi and James

The course is offered in English.

Deadline for Applications: February 1st, 2012.


Costs for the July 9-19 intensive seminars:
* 1st Option: Tuition only: €1,300
* 2nd Option: Tuition + Shared Room (1-2 other participants): €1,600
