Butoh/Dance/Sensation: The Chorus of Performance Writing

This meditation on somatic writing shares the touch of trembling muscles, of
choreography. Choreo, khoreia: chorus. Graphy, graphia: writing, as
reassembling, as reterritorializing.

Petra Kuppers is the author of Disability and Contemporary Performance:
Bodies on Edge (Routledge 2003), The Scar of Visibility: Medical
Performances and Contemporary Art (Minnesota, 2007) and Community
Performance: An Introduction (Routledge 2007). She teaches in performance
studies and disability studies at the University of Michigan, and is
Artistic Director of The Olimpias (www.olimpias.org). She is currently a
Fellow at the Humanities Research Center at ANU.
