Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
Centre for Pacific and American Studies (CPAS), The University of Tokyo

The Visiting Professorship in Australian Studies was created in 1999 by the

a deeper understanding of Australia and its regional engagement. The

from the senior levels of government or community. The Visiting Professor
is required to teach three courses at introductory and advanced

available to contribute to Australian Studies programs elsewhere in Japan.

The appointment is usually for a twelve month period, and commences no later
than 1 October 2009. The Visiting Professor is expected to spend most of

All teaching is conducted in English. An attractive salary package is
available.
