Title: OPENING DIALOGUES IN DISABILITY STUDIES

About Associate Professor Rosemarie Garland-Thomson
Rosemarie Garland Thomson, Associate Professor of Womens Studies at Emory
University, is the author of Extraordinary Bodies: Figuring Physical
Disability in American Literature and Culture (1997), editor of Freakery:
Cultural Spectacles of the Extraordinary Body (1996), and co-editor (with
Brenda Brueggemann and Sharon Snyder) of Disability Studies: Enabling the
Humanities (2002).
Masterclass for academics, PhD students, community activists and
professionals.
The Masterclass will involve some pre-reading in preparation for discussion
of the work of Associate Professor Rosemarie Garland-Thomson.
Date: Friday 6 April
Time: 10am - 4pm (a light lunch will be provided)
Venue: W6A 107
(On-campus parking available on a 'pay and display' basis - please bring
loose change to purchase tickets from ticketing machines. $4 for 1-3 hours,
$7 for 4 hours or more. Disabled parking spaces are available close to the
building.)

limited places in the class so those wishing to participate should register
