Dear all,

Apologies for the cross posting.

Do you want to be involved in UN decision making rather than just hearing
about it?

Each year, one young Australian is chosen to be the Youth Representative in
Australia's Delegation to the United Nations General Assembly. In 2007 this
could be you!

The Australian Youth Representative is responsible for representing the
veiws and interests of Australian young people at the United Nations. The
Youth Representative spends approximately eight weeks as a fully accrdited
member of the Australian delegation to the United Nations in New York. They
are involved in
* Providing youth opinion on resolutions to the General Assembly
* Formulating new projects for young people around the world
* Working with youth representatives from other countries to advance the
interests of young people.

Expressions of interest are open to young Australian¹s between the ages of
15 and 24 until Tuesday November 30 2006. For further information and to
fill out an expression of interest online go to www.unya.asn.au, see the
attached ³further information² document or contact me as below.

The Youth Representative position is supported by the Department of Foreign
Affairs and Trade and is administered by the United Nations Association of
Australia. Applicants should note that the Australian Government reserves
the right to withdraw the position at any time.

Good luck,
