Rhizomes III: Different Becomings
The School of Languages and Comparative Cultural Studies, The University of
Queensland, invites you to participate in the Schools third annual
postgraduate conference designed by and for postgraduate students to be
held 8 9 February 2007.
The conference aims to bring together current research being carried out
broadly within the humanities and to provide a forum for interdisciplinary
discussion in a friendly and relaxed but stimulating environment.
Deleuze and Guattaris concept of rhizomes has been adopted as the
conferences overarching theme to emphasise the principles of
non-hierarchical connectivity across the broad spectrum of disciplines
within the humanities.
This years theme, Rhizomes III: Different Becomings has been chosen to
celebrate the creative and integrative paths we, as postgraduates, are
taking in our research and continual becoming while searching for and
following knowledges. While welcoming papers which address this specific
theme, the conference still aims to bring together postgraduate researchers
working in all areas across the broad spectrum of the humanities.
FORMAT
Presentations are to be no longer than 20 minutes in length (with 10
additional minutes allocated for questions and discussion) and will be
grouped into panels of three according to topic.
