Council for the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences position:
 
CHASS is seeking a person to act as project manager, and to take on
responsibilities for planning and organising events and meetings. The
position is in the small office of a busy advocacy group in Canberra, on the
ANU campus.
 
Ideally applicants should be energetic, confident, adaptable and willing to
accept responsibility. The position will require a variety of organisational
and planning skills.  The ability to maintain a web site would be useful.
 
It will involve some travel.  The position is initially available until 31
December 2006, and could be held on either a full-time or a part-time basis.

The position:  Project Manager, $47,722 per annum rising to $50,586 on 16
November 2006 + superannuation, either full-time or a part-time position
(22.5 hours to 37.5 hours per week).
 
Specific responsibilities:
* assisting with management of CHASS events
* managing an externally-funded project, including the organisation of
meetings of the Reference Committee
* attending meetings of the Board and Executive, and drafting minutes of
these meetings 
* drafting documents for publication
* dealing with phone inquiries
