AN AUSTRALIAN TRAUMA
25 years ago, Azaria Chamberlain was taken by a dingo, near Uluru.
Lindy Chamberlain was convicted of murdering her baby daughter. The
nation divided.
This special Macquarie University event examines the legacy of the
Chamberlain case:
- Mrs Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton speaks about her experiences
- Lawyers explain the problems of evidence and media prejudice
- Academics consider the impact of the case in contemporary culture
- Artists explore how the Chamberlain case inspired them
- Curators describe the valuable Chamberlain collections at the
National Library of Australia & National Museum of Australia

The symposium will feature new research with a particular emphasis on
three analytics - critique of 'national' identity; cultural memory;
and the conjunction of law and trauma.
