TRANSFORMING CULTURES SEMINAR THIS WEEK.
The French Atlantic
Bill Marshall
Seminar: 20 May, 2005
French Studies in universities is often dominated by an approach
centering on France the nation-state and even adopting a French
cultural nationalism. Drawing on concepts from Paul Gilroy and Michel
de Certeau, I ask the question, what might happen, what might be
enabled, by thinking of Frenchness as diasporic and mobile?
Bill Marshall is Professor of French at The University of Glasgow and
Visiting Research Professor at TfC and HSS for May 2005.
When: Friday 20th May, 2005
Where: UTS. Building 2, Room 7065
Time: 4 - 5.30pm
