We are looking for Research Assistant(s) to work on the following
project:
Diverse strategies for diverse carers:
The cultural context of family carers in NSW
This project will undertake a cultural analysis of home based community
care with a focus on carers. It will be conducted over five months from
the end of January 2005 in partnership with the Department of Ageing,
Disability & Home Care.
The study will be looking at models of care-giving for families of
ageing and disabled persons from culturally and linguistically (CALD)
and Anglo-Australian backgrounds, with a focus on access and equity.
The project will focus on carers from CALD backgrounds who fall outside
the mainstream mechanisms of government support. By exploring the
everyday experiences of family carers we are seeking to understand how
diverse socio-cultural factors impact on family carers and care
arrangements.
We are looking for one or two casual researchers to conduct interviews
with carers, complete a literature review on models of care arrangements
and work on data analysis. This person(s) must be available to commence
by the end of January 2005.
