AT LENGTH

The Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts is pleased to invite applications from people interested in presenting papers covering all aspects of the use of digital media and the Internet to produce, promote and distribute cultural products and services.

Please note that, while there may be some longer presentations (up to 45 minutes in duration), the emphasis will be on shorter presentations (up to 20 minutes) followed by panel discussions.

You might like to look at the Conference Program to get an idea of the 'presentation-discussion' and 'case study' formats before sending us your presentation application.

Conference Format

We are looking for presentations which will:

EITHER

explore issues for discussion under one of the following main conference themes:

Financing Creativity

Creative Rights

Creating Future Audiences

OR

showcase a related case study which highlights innovative and creative uses of digital and online technologies.

How to apply to be a presenter

Please ensure you have read - and are able to meet - our requirements for presenters as set out in our 'Guidelines for Presenters' before you send us your application.

Please submit a 100 word abstract of the paper, with a brief resume (no more than two A4 pages) and the names and contact details of two people who are familiar with your project/work.

Presenters from the last OZeCulture conference will not be considered as presenters for the 2005 conference. However, presenters from earlier OZeCulture conferences (2001 and 2002) may apply to present a paper in 2005. Repeat presentations will not be considered.

The closing date is Friday 21 January 2005. We will endeavor to notify all applicants by Friday 28 January 2005.

Applications and enquiries should be made to: ozeculture at dcita.gov.au or telephone Rupert Hewison on +61 2 6271 1056 during eastern business hours.
