Local or international? Nicholas Thomas ("Oceanic Art"), Douglas Crimp ("
AIDS: Cultural Analysis/Cultural Activism" and "On the Museum's Ruins") and
Lucy Lippard ("Lure of the Local") are a few from my recent readings.
Artforum is almost a cultural studies journal these days right?

In Australia... a couple of blokes come immediately to mind -  Paul Foss
(key figure in discussions about contemporary art / cultural studies
crossovers IMHO!) - Scott McQuire...

someone who knows what they're talking about should probably jump in here, I
could mention more but I'm sure I'd be missing important ones.
