Hello Christie

You might like to mention the journal Transformations: region,
culture, society. It's a fully refereed (DEST compliant) electronic
journal in cultural studies, concerned with regional issues and the
idea of regionality. We are always looking for submissions, and
anyone interested in editing a special issue is most welcome to
submit their ideas. The journal is run out of the School of
Humanities and the School of Contemporary Communication at Central
Queensland University. Transformations has been going for four years
and has developed a reputation for publishing strong issues in a
variety of discipline areas focused around regionality from a
cultural and media studies perspective. The journal has recently
shifted operations to the Bundaberg campus and is currently
undergoing a major upgrade in web design. The journal is just part of
a larger web site also called Transformations, which includes an
artspace section, dedicated to exhibiting the work of regional
artists and researchers in visual areas. Local artists, photographers
and researchers are able to submit their work for exhibition. We also
accept offers to curate exhibitions.

The web site can be accessed at

>To Queensland CSAA members:
>
>Greg Noble is in the final stages of putting together the next issue
>of the CSAA's Newsletter, and as the state rep for Queensland, I'm
>keen to pass on to him news about QLD members' recent activities /
>events. This is a good opportunity to let the national Cultural
>Studies community know what you're doing, and of course to highlight
>the vigorous productivity of the QLD cohort.
>
>So sock it to me. Deadline is Tuesday 6 April.
