“Revelation 6”

Artists’ Statement:

"MAKE MISTAKES.WHO PAYS?" quote from an elder of the Jawoyn Tribe

Revelation 6 refers to the sixth chapter in the penultimate section of
the New Testament. This deals with the apocalypse or revealing or
unveiling of the four horsemen that brought with them Greed/ Famine,
Plague/Pestilence, War and Death

We have heard the galloping hooves of the four horses throughout
centuries of history. We hear them today. The Apocalypse and Armageddon,
the end of mankind in the last great battle between ‘the kings of the
earth' (St. John) have been the subject of artworks throughout history.
In this aspect my work has an art historical context.

The Northern Territory is the site of a World Heritage site, the Kakadu
National park - also the site of billions of dollars worth of uranium.
Uranium brings with it the screams of the horses carrying evil and
suffering.

My installation,"Revelation 6" deals with issues of apocalypse and
uranium mining.
